My school is located in New Orleans' Lower Garden District neighborhood. Our school is filled with the most amazing and inspiring children, pk-8th grade. Five years ago, our school was one of the lowest performing and under-served schools in the state. Today we boast that despite our limited resources, our students are outperforming students across the state, they are getting ready to go to top high schools, they are passionate learners and outstanding members of our community. This will be my forth year teaching second grade at my school. My students are adorable, curious, hard working, resilient, driven, and motivated. A day in my classroom is a day filled with conversation and discussion, laughter, sharing, thinking, cheering, building ideas, and persistence.
