We are on a mission of closing the equity gaps that lie in the Computer Science field with the students in our school. We are attempting to provide a greater access to Computer Science curriculum and to the necessary tools that students need to create professional looking projects that the students can produce with pride. We have begun introducing coding within certain classes, but there are opportunities missing because of the lack of equipment. With just one device to share, students will have an enhanced opportunity to code and create projects that are truly special. The 360 camera will allow students to capture 360 environments that students can layer interactive material over through our coding software. Because the camera is only used for part of the process, students in the class can share just the one camera and still be able to create their projects. With a majority of our students coming from low SES backgrounds, the opportunity to use and create with high end equipment would be special experience to them that we hope inspires them for many years to consider a CS/STEM job as a viable pathway for themselves.
