My students attend a high poverty, predominantly Hispanic school in California. They have very few opportunities to explore new worlds, so we try to visit as many places as we can through literature. The series The Magic Tree House inspires my students to pick up books and escape into worlds that teach them about different places throughout time , while entertaining them as well.
