My classroom consists of students with special needs. I teach students with severe, moderate and mild disabilities. The ages range from age 14 up to age 22. The students are with me 75% of the day. I am responsible for teaching all subjects to the students as well as teaching and meeting the individual IEP goals for each student. I try to provide an interesting, hands on classroom along with some paper pencil lessons. Many of my students have limited reading/comprehension skills so any hands on teaching can sometimes be more beneficial for students with special needs.
