Hello! I teach 5th grade in a collaboratively taught full inclusion classroom. I teach reading skills, writing skills, language arts, mathematics, social studies, social skills and self-concept building. In addition, I teach a reading remediation program called the Wilson Reading System, which was initially designed for adults with dyslexia. In my fabulous learning community (aka. my classroom) I work collaboratively with another wonderful teacher, a general education teacher. Together we create, plan and implement what we hope are invigorating lesson plans for all of our students. We teach in a high-need community where 95% of the school is entitled to free lunch. Many of our children come from households where English is a second language or it is not spoken at all. Due to this diversity, it is even more important for us to have engaging materials that make our children want to learn
