Currently our neighborhood school is transitioning into an environmental theme school. My third graders have demonstrated an eagerness to become stewards of the Earth. This year we are exploring the desert habitats around the world to compare and contrast them with our own local surroundings. They are eager to learn about their responsibilities to ensure clean air and drinking water for everybody. We are a Title 1 school with students living in a high poverty area in Connecticut. We have limited funds. Our present resources are outdated, inaccurate, and insufficient. My students need to gain a global understanding and new insights about the environments of the earth.

About my class
