In our alternative high school, we work to instill a love for reading in our reluctant readers through high interest books. We have free reading time where students get a break from the curriculum reading and they are able to choose novels to read that are specific to their interests. My students often tell me that they hate to read, but I have seen that change once they find a book that draws them in.
