I teach early childhood special education students ranging in age from 2 1/2 to 5 years old. I have two groups of students. I have ten children in my morning class and 12 children in my afternoon class. I have children in my class that are speech impaired, cognitively impaired, autistic, Down syndrome, and emotional impairments. Our students receive speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and adapted physical education on a weekly basis. The students generally stay in our program until their kindergarten year. From that point, students are placed in other special education classes that best meet their educational developmental needs.
