My students are extremely loving and caring once you establish a relationship with them. Our school is an elementary school in a high poverty area that was affected both by Hurricane Katrina and recently by Hurricane Issac. As elementary students, they love the physical activity involved in physical education class, and I hope to further that love of movement with this project. Some of my students struggle with the academic environment, so this performance laboratory will help them see that science and math are useful outside the classroom.
