Science is a verb!! Please help my students do science with high interest laboratory activities that further reinforce the concepts they are studying in class. Currently my students are making do with lab materials that are falling apart, outdated, or insufficient number of materials for each lab station. Additional labs activities will make the concepts more meaningful. My students are freshman through seniors who are taking Earth Science or Oceanography. They attend an urban school in southern California and come from very diverse backgrounds, both economically and racially. My Earth Science students tend to be freshman who are academically below average whereas my Oceanography students are juniors and seniors who are taking the class as an elective. My students are enthusiastic about science and really enjoy doing labs. They affectionately call the "lab" area of my classroom as the "fun side".
