Students in my class are from diverse backgrounds. They have all come from different countries and now attend our low income school in Massachusetts. They are in my Graphic Novels class and are excited about this new genre. We have been reading texts that deal with stereotypes in our society and the lasting effects that they can have on everyone. This has been an eye opening experience for my students and I have been honored to watch them grow into more sensitive, empathetic young adults.
