My classroom (studio) sees every class- large fifth-graders to super small kindergarteners. We currently have chairs that are too bulky for the space (and much too large for some of the little ones) and they take up valuable space when the room is converted for music class. Since supplies are all around the room, my artists need to move around the tables and have to squeeze through many packed areas. Usually, this causes much distraction to artists working hard on their projects and sometimes can even cause mistakes on artworks. Stools would allow my students to move easier in the classroom to get the supplies they need and building supplies would help our studio create an architecture center. The stools tuck under the table easily and allow my artists the freedom to stand while they work, something which isn't really possible with these bulky chairs. The lego and straws and connectors would allow us to explore different architectural materials and allow my many artists that prefer to work 3-dimensional some options. My students also would benefit from having some variety during their work time and these items would also allow my students to get up, move and build large.
