I work in a very low income, high-need school in the heart of Southern California. My students come from high poverty homes where parents work two jobs to make ends meet. My students don't have the basic necessities they should in order to function properly in a challenging and engaging upper grade classroom. The children are motivated, vibrant students with a strong desire to succeed and learn. They appreciate the materials they are handed, and long to have supplies to call their own.
