My students will be able to access a plethora of information at their fingertips by having updated computers. Currently, 20 students are sharing four extremely dated desktop computers for intervention blocks (to improve reading and math skills), guided learning, keyboarding, shared research, and extensions. Without access to newer technology like Chromebooks, students' learning may be delayed. Over half of these students are one grade level or more below in reading. ALL of these students are below grade level in math. The student's prime intervention program is on computers, MORE and NEWER computers are a must! Our grade level is also supplied four iPads per classroom for interventions, however they don't support the program necessary. My goal is to increase these students' reading level by at least one and a half grades and without the tools needed, I don't see how that goal will be attainable.
