My students work every day to overcome learning difficulties! The students I teach have some classes in a pull-out (small group) class and some in the regular class with accommodations. Our school district encompasses an area in western PA that has grown exponentially. Some of the children come from very wealthy families, while others struggle to make ends meet. My students need a variety of alternative from places to sit (exercise ball chairs) to technology like an ipad to use for EVERY writing assignment! This project will help to neutralize the effect of the economic extremes that children in our school experience and meet the physical and behavioral needs my students have. There are so many valuable products and apps for children with disabilities to help them learn in a different way! And a flexible teacher who does not mandate a child sit in a traditional chair can make a world of difference.
