I am currently a teacher at a Title 1 school with a high EL population. A lot of my students' first language is Spanish and therefore they need a lot of additional resources and support to help them learn English. Learning how to read can be a struggle for most of my students because they are in a home where English isn't spoken the majority of the time, so practicing skills learned at school is a challenge. I want to provide the supports my students need in order to be successful readers not only in English, but in their native languages as well.

About my class
