"Take chances, make mistakes and get messy" said Miss Frizzle on the popular show The Magic School Bus. It sounds a whole lot like my choice based art education classroom. Art teaches students to problem solve, create, invent and be curious about the world around them. Whatever profession my students choose for the future learning to be creative, take chances and learn that mistakes are ok will make them valuable for their future employers. Walt Disney said "Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” Help my students learn to be creative and try new exciting mediums to someday take the world we live in down paths no one has tried before.
