My students are a class of really amazing 5th graders. I have a vast array of learning styles and levels in my general education/ESL class. Our school has managed to raise math scores considerably in the past year but reading and writing are still challenging areas. The chance to truly become engrossed in a piece of literature will improve their fluency, comprehension and vocabularies. My students have the desire but making my classroom comfortable and conducive to quiet reading environment is the least I can do to help them reach their reading goals.
