The students I work with are each special in there own unique ways. Each child has a diagnosis that impacts his/her ability to communicate with others. These diagnoses include Autism, language disorders/delays, articulation errors, fluency disorder, etc. Difficulty with communication includes not understanding what others are saying, not having the ability to express their ideas coherently or to even express that he/she feels ill. The school I work in attempts to provide an environment for these students to thrive, however, due to budget cuts, funds being allocated to other areas of need, and an overall lower income area in which it resides, my students are not receiving the necessary supplies and means to overcome these obstacles that they face. If students cannot understand or participate in lessons at school, how are they going to carry these lessons into other aspects of their lives.
