This rug would be a focal point in my classroom. It would be used multiple times every single day. It will be used to develop literacy during a daily phonics program and read alouds. It will also be used to develop mathematics with daily number talks. This rug will be a place that my entire class will hold meaningful discussions and bond as a class and a place where individual students will curl up with a good book and feel comfortable and at ease in my classroom. For my students with autism, this rug will be a place where they can truly feel connected to their general education peers. All students will be able to participate in a morning meetings, read alouds, and discussions on this rug.
