My students attend an elementary school in Indiana in an urban setting. Many have overcome tough obstacles at a young age. When listening to and making music, they are no longer concerned about the challenges they face. They love playing rhythms, and are often tapping rhythms on anything they can touch. They also enjoy listening to rap music and R&B, but are intrigued by world music and the many diverse styles of music that they hear in my classroom.

About my class
