My students are economically disadvantaged. For most of them 5th grade is the first year they are being taught in all English. It is difficult for them to read and comprehend a Science English textbook. That's the reason why I teach them with hands on science experiments. I do not want language to be an obstacle in their learning of Science. I want them to explore and learn from the world around them.
