I teach Math and Science to 53 third grade students, twenty seven students in the morning and 26 students in the afternoon. Some are average third graders, some are below grade level, some are gifted and talented, and some are special needs. Our school is a Title I school where 89% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. In so many ways my students are like any other 3rd graders. They love eating lunch together and are ecstatic if they earn a chance to eat lunch with a teacher. They love kicking a ball around a field or swinging on the playground. Yet, some come to school without having dinner the night before and they wake up with bed bug bites. My class may be the best thing going for them in their life. I love to engage my students in learning! The excitement, the awe, the communication about a new topic is wonderful to see! Be a part of our class and we will share our magical moments with you!
