Our school is a Title I school. Approximately 800 students enrolled in our middle school. Seventh grade makes up the largest portion of students. I teach two AIG classes, one AVID class, and one inclusion class....a very wide variety of abilities! Many of the students love to read and not only borrow the two-at-a-time books from the media center, but borrow books from my personal classroom library. I love purchasing books from our book fairs and local book store to share with my students. I try to read every book that I buy for my personal collection so that I can discuss novels with the kids and make suggestions! Seventh graders are caught between still being very needy and becoming more independent. My students can be challenging but are a joy to teach!
