Science has been the most engaging subject for my students. They enjoy hands-on experiences, working with each other, and problem-solving. I would like to have more supplies to continue with these engaging lessons. The supplies that I need go toward teaching students about solar energy, such as heat lamps, solar panels, and mini generators (wind energy). Also, exploring using STEM materials will help them show their creative minds. These include puzzles, straw connectors, and building blocks. It will give them time to exercise their brains, which extends their thinking into other areas for problem-solving. My students enjoy it when I read a book aloud to them daily. They want our classroom discussions about the books, relaxing while listening, and relating to the characters and lessons. When we are finished with a book, they urgently ask what we are reading next. I have noticed that it is incredibly engaging for my students if they have their book to follow along. I chose to add a class set to my classroom library and replace some books to our current location to keep building these experiences. The book that I chose to have for a class set is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I will also need to replace some of my Holes books. Many students focus better while moving, so I have purchased several stools to sit on rather than typical classroom chairs. The students love them and tote them all around my classroom. However, many of my students are wiggly when trying to concentrate. The stools are just not sturdy enough, and the legs often break. The wobble chairs will be the perfect fit for my students.
