My classroom is a mild cognitively impaired classroom for students Kindergarten through sixth grade. They need extra support, motivation, and encouragement to see themselves as able to complete a task. Without my help they often don't see the point in completing their school work or trying their hardest. Our school is a low-income school where around 80% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. The students come from homes where many of their parents didn't graduate and academic support isn't able to happen at home. I make sure when my students come to my room they feel that it is a safe place for learning to happen and understand that I want and know that together we can work to make them successful.
