My students are from low-economic families. When asked what books they have at home, only a few can provide the names of books they can call their own, and only a few can say they have someone to read to them. They are very hard workers and have shown me this early on in the school year. I want to be able to give them the strong foundation they need to become strong readers and life long learners.
