Yes, the price in the photo is correct. Items in rural Alaska are really expensive, this is because the schools in rural (bush) Alaska are VERY remote. All the supplies need to be flown in, as there are no roads to be able to get from here to there. The local store isn't very large, and the prices are REALLY high. Students in rural Alaska typically live a subsistence life style. The hunt moose, and collect berries. The learning style is very much hands on. When a project is something they can touch, it is easier for them to understand what is happening. It's the end of September right now and we already have snow. There will not be a lot of color very soon, and this project will allow us to grow something green in class.
