During Independent Reading, my students are expected to read 20-40 minutes a day. Access to interesting books of various reading levels is a must in keeping adolescents engaged in reading for that long of a time. My goal as a teacher is to make my students lifelong readers, and I am able to do that when I can provide students with great books. Having a classroom library where my students come together to read and discuss books and develop a love of reading is one of the most exciting things to see when you are teacher. Students who excel at reading become more successful in life. Contributing to my classroom library will put my students on the path to success.
