Our school is high poverty with high expectations for excellence. My students are hands-on, kinesthetic learners. They catch on quickly to concepts, especially if they have objects that they can manipulate. The problem is, most of the teachers in my school have been accumulating their math manipulatives over many years, and I am just beginning in my career. Our school does not have supply money to give to new teachers and this affects the students who have new teachers.
