My students are residence of Philadelphia. They are inquisitive, excited and eager to learn each and every day. Our school is a very well maintained school with a loving, caring administrator who does everything within her power to see that the needs of the students are met. However, with a multitude of budget cuts it has become increasing more difficult to meet the needs of the diverse leaners in our learning community. The students in our area live in a low income area with limited technology resources. The local library has a few computers that serve at least 4 different schools in the area. Our school does have a computer lab that the students are able to use once a week as they cycle to the special class periods. However, during our literacy time the students are deprived of being exposed to great literature due to limited resources. An IPad would allow us greater access to many great book.
