I have a very diverse class. Our school is one of three kindergarten to second grade elementary schools. I am one of 6 first grade teachers at the school. The students are all wonderful and very sweet children who come from many different circumstances at home. Many have parents who speak very little English and who work long hours. Some of my students don't have many books to read at home but I try to encourage reading at home by sending books that I purchased home every night.
