Every third grader in South Carolina learns about short circuits and how they work, but the only evidence of a true connection is a lit light bulb. I want my students to use problem solving skills to create their own unique short circuits, using different types of materials. A makey makey is an invention kit, which can turn everyday objects into a touchpad. With the use of a computer, the makey makey device, and the internet, students will be able to code different sounds to the objects to test their circuits and deduce about the outcome. This project gives the students an opportunity to learn through play while using their own imagination to come up with endless possiblilities. After learning about circuits, my students will design their own circuit and test the validity of it.
