I teach in an urban, public, inner city school in a North Carolina school district. Our student population is a pretty even balance for the most part: 40% African American, 30% Caucasian, 25% Hispanic, and 5% Asian. Our student body has a below poverty rate of about 64%, and teaching these students basic job skills is essential to help better their lives while readying them for high school, the job market, post secondary education, and beyond.

About my class
