My students will be using MIT App Inventor, which is an intuitive, visual programming environment that allows them to build fully functional apps for smartphones and tablets. MIT App Inventor is changing the way the world creates apps and the way that students learn about computing. My students will be creating the Apps on their Chromebooks and will use these Android tablets for live testing of their apps. I also have a few students that would use the tablets as music-making devices, even among professionals, and there are a lots of apps available that make good use of the tablet’s extra screen space compared with a mobile phone screen.
