My students are eighth graders who speak Spanish. They are taking Spanish for Spanish-speakers, which allows them to earn a high school credit while they improve their literacy skills in both Spanish and English. They're energetic, funny, and they want to leave school with the bilingual skills that will enable them to make choices about their futures--not have their futures chosen for them.
