I teach kindergarten in a moderate poverty area in Columbia, MD. I teach the ESL (English as a second language) learners in my classroom. I need several hands-on and picture cues to help these children succeed in literacy. Several of my students come to my classroom with little background knowledge and book handling skills. In order to make them become independent and successful readers and writers, I need the proper tools to make learning a fun and meaningful experience. This is their first reading experience and I want to make it memorable and teach them positive behaviors that will last them a lifetime. Thank you for your help!
