My students are AWESOME! I realize I am biased, but they really are. We are in a school of about 2300, for grades sixth and seventh only. Although our district has many resources, money for individual classrooms is spread very thin because of our vast size. Our students are split into teams. On our team, we have a lot of students who are "emotionally disturbed" and a lot of lower level learners. Because of this, it is hard to know through normal lecture what they are understanding in my math class. With white boards, my students can work out examples as we go, hold up their answer, and I have immediate feedback whether or not they understand the concept.
