In my 2nd grade classroom we have a group of learners who are curious and creative and inspired by my love of science and engineering. I want them to explore the STEM concepts by building, tinkering, coding and creating. I want them to think outside the box and think of the how and why. Our school is the picture of diversity, both socioeconomically and ethnically. Our classroom community amazes me when I see the cooperation, sensitivity and empathy my students possess. This particular class I have this year is ready to learn! They have assured me they want to go the extra mile. I want to take advantage of their excitement and use my STEaM Stations to generate more writing and encourage them to read nonfiction texts.
