I have a diverse classroom of 29 high energy fourth graders who live in a high poverty area in Oregon. Our award-winning school has teachers who hold our students to high standards of excellence through academics and behavior, and I'm extremely proud of my position and I really do love my job. Specifically, my rambunctious group this year needs lots of positive reinforcement and extra practice with routines. I have at least 3 students with ADHD this year, 5 talented and gifted, 1 emotionally disturbed/special education, and 7 English Language Learners, which will make for quite a challenge! Many of them have a hard time focusing, and these yoga balls will help calm them down yet also excite them because they will have the freedom to sit or stand when they work. This project is perfect for my class. I can already predict that the yoga balls will be used constantly, and the drumsticks will get used daily. Please help!
