The students at our public charter school live in neighborhoods within the District of Columbia that are often classified as food deserts. They are fiercely independent, love to eat, and are always excited about trying new things. These students have elected to take a class entitled "Top Chef" because they are committed to eating locally, making choices that are sustainable and socially just, and educating themselves, their families, and the local community about healthful lifestyles.

About my class
