These computers will be used on a regular basis by the award winning Kenwood Debate team. The debate team completes topic research, card creation, and practice debates. Chromebooks are the perfect tool for these tasks as they allow for internet access and document creation. My students are engaged in daily critical thinking and analysis. in our school we do not use textbooks at the junior level in world studies. Instead we do research, find articles and other sources to learn about many different topics. These resources are from the 'real world' they allow students to evaluate sources and determine credibility. This research then allows us to teach not only reading and writing skills but the ability to determine when news is 'fake news.' The gift of these computers will help our students and our team reach the next level of their development as global citizens.
