This project is designed to help kindergarten students care for and learn about different varieties of birds. Students will learn about the importance of food for birds in the winter, what different varieties of birds visit our bird feeders, and the responsibility of caring for animals. Students can observe these birds easily from our classroom window, as it has the perfect place to view the feeders. We have a science station set up inside the classroom where students can look out and draw pictures of what they see. This could be such a great learning opportunity for my students! All students in my class could benefit from this experience. I also think there would be such excitement as children anticipate the arrival of new fine-feathered friends daily. This would be like a class pet but one that continually changes each day! Since we can not have a class pet this year due to restrictions, this would be a way to still have this enjoyment and learning for the students.
