My Kindergarten students attend a public elementary/middle school that is located in the city. Although they are young, many of them have been exposed to some of life's challenges. The area is very diverse and therefore, my group of students is very diverse. My students all live in the community where the school is located. So although they are a diverse group, they all have something in common. They are vibrant five year old children who want to know everything about anything. They face physical and mental challenges daily and by increasing their fine motor skills half of the battle will be won. For example the challenge will be what they should write versus their ability to write.
