The following products I selected will help my students learn about social-emotional skills in a classroom setting. These products teach feelings and how to identify the feelings of others. Teaching social-emotional learning is so important in early childhood. Students learn how to share their feelings and notice the feelings of others along with many other social-emotional skills. The books selected will be effective in teaching students about different types of feelings and how to identify those feelings. The books will help develop their vocabulary by introducing new words to them. In Pre-k, the writing skill is extremely important to develop. The My Feelings Journal is a great item to use for help with developing this skill. With the journal, students will share their feelings by writing or drawing in their own journal. By the end of Pre-k students will know how to share their feelings both through written and verbal expression. With the products I selected, my students will be successful in the next grade and on because they had a solid foundation of social-emotional learning when it was provided at the most important part of their development.
