My students are high school age middle school students, who have been retained at least two times in their academic careers. They are bright students but unfortunately, at some point they have been misunderstood and disengaged. My school is an alternative school, that allows them to accelerate two grade levels in one year. Our program is rigorous but because of the economic state of the district we do not have some of the materials we need to awaken the scholar that I believe is hidden in each of them. Once my students are engaged they are unstoppable.
