My students come from low income homes, and the majority live in crowded apartments. Our school is 1 of 5 elementary schools all located in a one square mile area in a low socio-economic area with gang and drug problems. Our school is a safe haven for our students, where we strive to make them caring and educated citizens, as well as life long learners. As a product of this community, I want my students to know they are important and that they can make a difference in the world.
