My students are in a low-income, high-poverty school where they have limitations beyond their means. Specifically, my students understand that being in a low-income school impedes on the resources available to them, and I want them to believe otherwise. I have learned from my students that they really do love to learn when someone believes in them. They especially love to learn when they can see what is happening first hand. In my class we have the motto, "don't believe it until you see it." My students use this motto to prove things in science do exist and there is an explanation for such.
