Our school is a multi-cultural, Title I school, located in Eastern North Carolina. This is an area of high poverty, where students are at risk of falling behind or find themselves already behind academically. Several of my students come from single parent homes or homes with a secondary caregiver, with limited home reinforcement of curriculum objectives. For this reason, it is vital that every second of the students classroom instruction be engaging and interactive. Under these conditions my students retention of classroom instruction objectives is most effectively realized.
