My students are a motivated and hard working group of students who have endured many hardships in their short lives. My students come from a low socio-economic background. Many reside in single parent homes or with grandparents. They have survived Hurricane Katrina and more recently the flooding effects of Hurricane Isaac. In spite of these things, my students have the desire to improve their lives and neighborhoods. They are proud participants in youth athletics and activities. As a school, we have not let these hardships get us down. We are working hard to increase student achievement and to do whatever it takes to help our students succeed. We are making gains and intend to continue on our upward track.
